Bravade

The Bravade Saint - Tropez is an old provincial tradition. This is celebrated each year with three days of processions and worship accompanied by drums.

Festivities, in which the arrival of the body of Saint Torpes is also celebrated.  According to the legend, the name 'Saint-Tropez' comes off Saint Torpes, a martyr who refused to give up his faith. He was beheaded on the orders of Nero and his body was thrown into a boat. This boat, accompanied by a rooster and a dog, drifted towards the sea, in the bay that is now called Golfe de Saint-Tropez. There beached the boat on land.

During the three days the “Bravadoors” bear the provincial traditional costumes.
